We are seeking an interior designer/ project manager for our rapidly expanding Albany market. The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible for the execution of commercial design projects working on a team alongside sales and installation. This person’s focus will be the space planning, specification, and installation project management of commercial spaces primarily in the Higher Education, Healthcare, and Corporate Office sector.

This position requires high attention to detail and ability to time manage to ensure project success. A candidate who is skilled in AutoCAD, systems furniture, and furniture and finish resources is essential for this position. Experience with 2020 CAP is preferred. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, creative and organized individual who possesses excellent time management skills, and can confidently present solutions to both internal and external teams.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide outstanding product application and design solutions for projects;
  • Assure complete, on time and accurate specification of products and finishes;
  • Apply independent thinking and value-add to take customer and salesperson input and deliver the best possible workplace solution;
  • Field verification of building conditions;
  • Create installation plans; and
  • Present solutions clearly and effectively.

 

 Required education, experience & skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • 2+ years related experience with in-depth knowledge of the commercial furniture industry a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD;
  • Experience with 2020 CAP is preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point);
  • Proven organizational and follow-through skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage numerous projects, and organize own work to meet agreed upon deadlines;
  • Effective communication and people skills; and
  • Clear judgment and problem-solving abilities.
