Interior Designer/Project Manager

We are seeking an interior designer/ project manager for our rapidly expanding Albany market. The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible for the execution of commercial design projects working on a team alongside sales and installation. This person’s focus will be the space planning, specification, and installation project management of commercial spaces primarily in the Higher Education, Healthcare, and Corporate Office sector.

This position requires high attention to detail and ability to time manage to ensure project success. A candidate who is skilled in AutoCAD, systems furniture, and furniture and finish resources is essential for this position. Experience with 2020 CAP is preferred. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, creative and organized individual who possesses excellent time management skills, and can confidently present solutions to both internal and external teams.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide outstanding product application and design solutions for projects;
  • Assure complete, on time and accurate specification of products and finishes;
  • Apply independent thinking and value-add to take customer and salesperson input and deliver the best possible workplace solution;
  • Field verification of building conditions;
  • Create installation plans; and
  • Present solutions clearly and effectively.

 

 Required education, experience & skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • 2+ years related experience with in-depth knowledge of the commercial furniture industry a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD;
  • Experience with 2020 CAP is preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point);
  • Proven organizational and follow-through skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage numerous projects, and organize own work to meet agreed upon deadlines;
  • Effective communication and people skills; and
  • Clear judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Lead Commercial Furniture Installer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Commercial Furniture Installer to join our full service furniture dealership. The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible to perform various furniture service duties including, but not limited to: delivery, assembly, installation, relocation, repair, and service of warranty and non-warranty office furniture. Basic Duties for the Installer Include: loading and unloading of office furniture at warehouse and job site, maintaining a clean and organized job site, assembly and disassembly of various types of office furniture, utilizing install packets provided by Designers to install according to project specifications, and communicating effectively and professionally with fellow staff and customers.

This position requires high attention to detail and ability to time manage to ensure project success. A candidate who has experience using a tablet to view and record information is preferred. Regular travel across New York State and often extended shifts should be expected. The successful applicant will have previous experience leading a team and managing an installation to achieve a positive outcome. The Lead Installer is charged with resolving customer issues related to installation while exhibiting a polite, helpful, positive attitude and professional image with public, customers and team members. This position must serve as a role model for the installation team.

  • Upon return to the warehouse, empty trash and cardboard from truck, and properly dispose.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull product weighing between 50-100 pounds.
  • Must be able to use hand and electrical tools necessary to assemble furniture.
  • Follow all safety procedures in the performance to job duties.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to read construction blueprints and CAD installation drawings.
  • Proven basic computer and smartphone skills.
  • Experience viewing + recording information on a tablet is preferred.

The successful candidate will be considered for growth within the company if they have the ability to learn and take guidance from lead installers, and senior leadership.
